Time is flying by and 2023 is almost over! But there are books still scheduled to be published this month, and the next. I know from personal experience that the TBR (to be read) list is technically never done, and book lovers are constantly looking for the next great read. Maybe one of the books that you’re looking for will be listed below.
Here’s a brief overview of 4 books by Latine authors that are coming out soon:
Worm: A Cuban American Odyssey by Edel Rodriguez (November 2023)
This book is an autobiographical telling of Edel Rodriguez’s life through art, including how his life and that of his family changed in Cuba under Fidel Castro, their journey to the United States, and politics and democracy. Author Rodriguez is also an artist and illustrator, that has exhibited his work internationally. Check out some of his portfolio here.
Caught in a Bad Fauxmance by Elle Gonzalez Rose (December 2023)
Does the book title sound familiar? It probably does if you’re a Lady Gaga fan!

Want your bad romance
Debut author Elle Gonzalez Rose takes you into a rom-com with Devin Baez and Julian Seo-Cooke, who come from two rival families. Both families have something to lose, with potentially surprising results. For more writing from Gonzalez Rose, check out 10 Things I Hate About Prom (coming out in 2024) and The Girl You Know (scheduled to be published in 2025), per her website.
Raiders of the Lost Heart by Jo Segura (December 2023)
Forthcoming from romance author Jo Segura, is this love story that follows rival archaeologists - the book title is a play on “Raiders of the Lost Ark”, get it? - that have to work together to make the expedition a success. This is her first published book.
Flores and Miss Paula: A Novel by Melissa Rivero (December 2023)
This story explores the relationship between mother and daughter, Paula and Flores, after the death of their husband and father. They are also both trying to also figure out their own lives in the process. Rivero is also the author of The Affairs of the Falcóns, which won the 2019 New American Voices Award and a 2020 International Latino Book Award.
